A man from Australia that leaped over a barricade and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and barred from Singapore.

The individual, aged 26, was sentenced to over a week in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to news outlets.

He forced his way past photographers and charged at the celebrity, who was attending the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including rushing the stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in June this year.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has discussed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her concert in the English city in several years ago took the lives of 22 people and affected hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a follow-up try to jump the barricades. Security staff prevented him and pinned him down.

He then uploaded videos appreciating the celebrity for letting him on the carpet and said he was "free."

Authorities arrested him the next day and charged him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was quoted by media reports as saying that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was wrong to think he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not spoken about the situation.

Cynthia Erivo mentioned the incident to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to verify my colleague was protected."

"I believe he didn't intend us danger, but you never know with such situations, and I wanted to confirm that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she said.
