Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
