Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
